In the rodding process, fabricators cut a channel into the back of the stone and glue in a rod. This does not make the stone stronger but it does hold the broken pieces together so the countertop\u003cbr\u003eis easier to repair. Most fabricators use steel bars 1\/8”x1\/4”or berglass rectangular rod.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003eAfter placing the rod into the channel, apply glue to secure it permanently to the countertop. The Spider rodding blades are 4” diameter by 1⁄4”.
